Anthropic's Claude Marketplace launched with a deliberate contrast built into its pitch: where OpenAI's earlier apps marketplace did not work out, according to BleepingComputer, Anthropic is letting anyone publish, and it opened with more than 2,000 connectors and plugins already live.

The breadth-first approach shows in the roster from day one: connectors and plugins from Atlassian, Google, Microsoft, Notion and Salesforce sit alongside Claude-powered products from CrowdStrike, Cursor, Harvey, Legora, Lovable and Snowflake, according to [BleepingComputer's](https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/artificial-intelligence/anthropic-turns-claude-into-an-ai-marketplace-with-2-000-plus-plugins-and-connectors/) coverage of the launch.

That list is not incidental: CrowdStrike in security, Harvey and Legora in legal, and Snowflake in data infrastructure each represent a vertical where Anthropic wants Claude treated as embedded infrastructure rather than a standalone chat product competing purely on model quality.

The enterprise push goes further still: Accenture, Boston Consulting Group and Deloitte are listed as consulting partners, giving Anthropic a route into large corporate rollouts through firms that already sell transformation projects to exactly the buyers Claude wants as customers.

For developers, the barrier to entry is comparatively low: build with the Model Context Protocol and Agent Skills, submit the result, and it can be listed, according to Anthropic. In analysis terms, that is a low bar for getting in front of Claude's business customers.

Product companies and services firms go through a slightly heavier process, applying to list directly or to join the Claude Partner Network respectively, [gHacks reported](https://www.ghacks.net/2026/09/27/anthropic-launches-claude-marketplace-with-more-than-2000-connectors-and-plugins/). Anthropic says the aim is to give developers and partners a direct route to existing Claude customers.

The underlying plumbing is Anthropic's own: connectors run on the Model Context Protocol, the open standard it introduced and that rivals including OpenAI have since adopted, which gives Anthropic's marketplace a head start with developers already building to that standard.

The consulting layer matters commercially in a way pure developer tooling does not: Accenture, BCG and Deloitte sell multi-year transformation engagements, and having Claude built into that pitch gives Anthropic a distribution channel it could never quite build through direct sales alone.

Rivals will be watching the listing count closely. A marketplace that opens with more than 2,000 entries sets a bar that OpenAI, Google and any other company chasing enterprise AI spend will now be measured against, fairly or not.

The open submission model carries its own commercial risk, though: by letting anyone publish, Anthropic is trading tighter quality control for raw scale, a trade that has burned other platforms badly when volume outpaced their ability to police what actually got listed.

Anthropic will need the marketplace's headline number to convert into real usage and real revenue, not just a large count of listings, before rivals or investors treat the launch as more than a strong opening press release moment for the company.
