Anthropic IPO eyes a $2tn valuation as investor day nears
Anthropic will host institutional investors on 14 October and could start marketing its listing the week of 9 November, Bloomberg reported.
The answer
Anthropic reportedly plans a 14 October investor day and may start marketing its IPO in the week of 9 November.
Anthropic is lining up what would be the largest IPO of all time, with a targeted valuation of up to $2 trillion or more. The company is preparing to put its case to institutional money within two weeks.
Bloomberg reported on 1 October, citing people familiar with the matter, that Anthropic PBC will meet prospective investors on 14 October at its San Francisco headquarters. Invitations recently went out to a select group of institutional investors, who will be able to question senior executives.
The timeline is firming. Anthropic could begin formally marketing the IPO the week of 9 November, aiming to list before Thanksgiving, according to Bloomberg, which described this as the company's firmest timeline yet. Earlier reports had pointed to October 2026. Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan are the reported underwriters.
The numbers behind the pitch are large. Reuters reported on Anthropic's S-1 prospectus, which showed 2025 revenue up 12x to roughly $4.6 billion. The company's last private valuation was about $965 billion, set in the May 2026 Series H-1. A $2 trillion target would roughly double that mark.
Little of this is confirmed. The dates and valuation come from anonymous sources and could change, and Anthropic has not commented publicly. Yahoo Finance also reported the mid-November target.
The Insider view
The investor day is the real signal. Inviting a select group of institutions to question senior executives, before any formal marketing, suggests Anthropic wants its anchor demand lined up early. Three major banks on the underwriting list point the same way.
The valuation is where the pressure sits. A move from about $965 billion to $2 trillion or more asks buyers to pay for growth well beyond the 12x revenue jump in the S-1. Institutions will use 14 October to test that case, and their reaction will shape the pricing.
OpenAI is the other name in the frame. Sam Altman has said its own IPO is not coming this year, which leaves Anthropic as the first of the two to test public markets. Watch for the week of 9 November and for any change to the dates or the valuation range.
